Elastic Bandage - Reinforced Self-Adhesive Type

   Scalp intravenous infusion for children is a common infusion method in pediatrics. The general practice for scalp intravenous infusion is to fix the disposable scalp needle with infusion adhesive tapes after successful puncture, and then use medical adhesive tapes to wrap and assist in fixation.  

   This fixation method has many drawbacks. On the one hand, traditional medical adhesive tapes are inelastic and airtight. Newborns tend to cry and be restless, especially in summer when babies sweat more. To prevent the needle from falling off, medical staff often wrap the head multiple times with medical adhesive tapes to fix the needle. Parents, seeing their children's restlessness and worrying about the pain of secondary puncture due to needle detachment, also often request nurses to wrap more layers. However, the medical adhesive tapes commonly used in clinical practice have poor air permeability and many are inelastic. Wrapping too many layers makes babies uncomfortable, and sweat easily causes the tapes to fall off,causing to secondary puncture and pain for children.  

   On the other hand, traditional medical adhesive tapes have too strong viscosity, easily sticking to babies' hair and causing pain when removing the needle. To protect babies' hair, medical staff are cautious when removing the needle, resulting in prolonged needle removal time. Due to hair pulling pain, inner fear, physical discomfort, and other reasons, many babies cry violently throughout the needle removal process.
