Ways to treat minor cuts at home

In daily life, it is inevitable to encounter some minor accidents that may cause injuries to family members. Proper wound care can not only alleviate pain but also promote wound healing and prevent infection. Today, let's learn about the knowledge and skills of home wound care together.

  1. Scratches are relatively common injuries in family activities, usually caused by friction between the skin and a rough surface, manifesting as epidermal damage, minor bleeding, and pain.
  2. Wound treatment steps

Step 1: Clean the wound. Rinse the wound with saline solution or running water to ensure that there are no debris, foreign objects, or contaminants in the wound.

Step 2: Press to stop bleeding

Generally, minor abrasions will stop bleeding on their own due to the mildness of the wound; however, if there is persistent bleeding from the wound, clean gauze can be applied to press and stop the bleeding.

Step 3: Disinfect the wound

Disinfect the wound with antiseptic solution or iodophor solution to prevent infection.

Iodophor has a low concentration and minimal irritation, making it suitable for disinfection of skin and mucous membranes in majority of situations. It also possesses a broad-spectrum disinfectant effect, effectively killing bacteria, viruses, fungi, amoebas, and even spores.

Compared to the short shelf life of bottled iodophor solution after opening, Kangledi iodophor cotton swabs have effectively solved this problem.

The cotton swab design facilitates easy carrying and application.

Step 4: Wound dressing

Depending on the size of the wound, apply a band-aid or sterile dressing to cover it.

When using adhesive bandages, adjust the tightness appropriately. They should neither be too tight, which can impede blood circulation, nor too loose, which can cause detachment.

When treating a wound, it is important to keep your hands clean to avoid infection. At the same time, closely monitor the changes in the wound. If any abnormalities such as redness, swelling, exudation, or fever occur, seek medical attention immediately.
